This year in Warsaw we will see a new version of the Winter Illumination of Warsaw.
On Saturday evening, 2 of December 2023, Christmas illumination will shine in the Old Town and the Royal Route.
As every year, residents of the capital will feel the magic of Christmas thanks to unique illuminations. In the 2023/2024 season, city Christmas decorations will refer to the 1950s and 1960s. The retro style will reflect the aura of home warmth.
The largest Christmas tree in the country, 27 meters high, will be erected on Castle Square. The multimedia tree will be made of materials derived from green energy sources. The traditional design of winter illuminations will take you on a nostalgic journey thanks to the latest energy-saving technologies. Once again, Multidekor, which won the tender, will produce the lighting.

We have just signed another contract with Multidekor, which, as in previous years, presented us with the best offer. The Warsaw-based company will not only provide us with a unique, festive atmosphere with light decorations in representative places in the capital, but will also take care of the climate – using energy-saving solutions – says Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of the capital city. Today, the company signed a three-year contract for Christmas lighting in Warsaw with the Municipal Roads Authority.
Every year we offer Warsaw a new version of subsequent eras in the city’s history. After the decorations from the times of „The Doll”, a journey around the interwar capital, it was time for Warsaw, seen through the eyes of Wiech, Tadeusz Konwicki, and Agnieszka Osiecka. All light attractions were designed with audiences of different ages and expectations in mind. They have the ability to interact, make sounds, and each element can be touched and experienced. I am glad that our company will once again transform Warsaw with light, says Tomasz Podogrocki, vice-president of Multidekor.
Trakt Królewski, Nowy Świat and Świętokrzyska Street will be covered with traditional baubles, colorful strings, Christmas tree lights and colorful paper chains. Illuminations of relics from those years will appear on the sidewalks in the capital, including saturators, shop scales, telephones, radios and televisions with evening entertainment. So that the youngest can get acquainted with the childhood atmosphere of their parents and grandparents. In addition, there will be retro carousels and toys for kids.
When designing this year’s collection for Warsaw, my team tried to incorporate memories and the still vivid image of characteristic forms and decorations that we once enjoyed and which are now worth showing to new generations – says Olga Mościcka, head of the team working on the concept at Multidekor. exhibitions for the capital.
On the city streets you will also be able to see the Syrenka – the legendary car from FSO and the iconic Ryś motorcycle. A colorful display of timeless decorations will appear in December this year. It will certainly warm up and color the spirit of winter Warsaw.
