Warsaw Museums 
Warsaw offers you a range of museums, parks or gardens that remember the Saxons period in Poland and the last king of Poland Stanisław II August, but also a few very new like Frederic Chopin Museum or Polin – Museum of History of Polish Jews.
Here is my list of museums and parks must to see while you are in Warsaw

 

1. Royal Łazienki Park

Łazienki Park was designed in the 17th century in the baroque style, for Stanisław Lubomirski. It took the name Łazienki („Baths”) from a bathing pavilion that was located there.

2. Saski Garden

It is the oldest public park in the city. Founded in the late 17th century, it was opened to the public in 1727 as one of the first publicly accessible parks in the world.
Initially a Baroque French-style park, in the 19th century it was turned into a Romantic English-style landscape park. Destroyed during and after the Warsaw Uprising, it was partly reconstructed after World War II.

 


3. Royal Castle

The castle is one of Warsaw’s most recognizable landmarks.It is located in the Castle Square, at the entrance to the Warsaw Old Town.
Initially the complex served as the residence of the Dukes of Masovia, and since the sixteenth century, the seat of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: the King and Parliament.

4. Wilanów Palace

Is a royal palace located in the Wilanów. Wilanów Palace survived the Poland’s partitions and both World Wars, and so serves as a reminder of the culture of the Polish state as it was before the misfortunes of the 18th century.

9:30am – 4pm (last entrance 3pm).
On Thursdays, the palace can be entered with free entry passes for specific hours, which can be obtained at the ticket office. For reasons of restoration, the number of passes is limited. The passes are available from 9am until stock lasts.

 


5. Frederic Chopin Museum

Located in the baroque Ostrogski palac the musuem collection consists of portraits, letters and manuscripts to a grand piano on which the maestro composed his wondrous works. Every Thursday you can listen concerts of Chopin music.

6. Zachęta
Zachęta is one of the oldest showrooms in Poland. The building was erected in the years 1898-1900 according to a design by Stefan Szyller.
The Gallery also take place lectures, symposia, book launches, meetings with artists, cinema screenings, concerts.

7. Królikarnia
Królikarnia (The Rabbit House) was built between 1782 and 1786, following a design by Domenico Merlini. The museum is dedicated to polish sculptor Xawery Dunikowski an Auschwitz concentration camp survivor. The park around Królikarnia features many of his famous works.

8. National Musuem 

The museum contains a rich collection of exhibits from antiquity to modern times.
National Museum presents works of artists from around the world at numerous temporary exhibitions.

9. Polin – Musuem of History of Polish Jews 

The permanent exhibition opened in 2014 shows 1,000 years of coexistence of the Polish and Jewish. You need at least 2 hours to see half of the exhibition which is really big and well prepared.

10. Uprising Musuem opeded in 2004

Opened in 2004  the museum pays tribute to all those who fought and died for their country’s independence. Housed in a former tramway power station, the modern museum guides visitors through interactive displays, video footage and photographs
