Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie zaprasza na spotkanie z Anrim Salą – uczniem Ediego Hili. Rozmowę poprowadzi Kathrin Rhomberg, współkuratorka wystawy „Edi Hila. Malarz transformacji”.

Anri Sala to jeden z najbardziej znanych artystów współczesnych. Zachował bardzo żywe i ciepłe wspomnienia o Edim Hilii, swoim nauczycielu z czasów studiów w Tiranie. Sala jest jednym z głównych popularyzatorów twórczości Ediego Hili poza Albanią.

Anri Sala
(ur. w 1974 w Tiranie, Albania). Absolwent wydziału malarstwa i rzeźby Narodowej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Tiranie, gdzie zetknął się z twórczością Ediego Hili. Po otrzymaniu tytułu licencjata, studiował sztukę wideo w École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs w Paryżu oraz ukończył studia reżyserii filmowej w Le Fresnoy Studio National des Arts Contemporains w Tourcoing. Obecnie mieszka i pracuje w Berlinie.

Anri Sala jest jednym z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych artystów albańskich. Laureat europejskiej Nagrody im. Vincenta van Gogha (2014), 10. edycji nagrody Benesse (2013) oraz Nagrody dla Młodego Artysty na Biennale w Wenecji (2001). Brał udział w wielu wystawach zbiorowych, m.in. w 12. Biennale w Hawanie (2015), Sharjah Biennale (2013), Biennale Gwangju (2012), DOCUMENTA (13) czy biennale w São
Paulo (2010). W 2013 roku Anri Sala reprezentował Francję na 55. Biennale w Wenecji.

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites the public to a meeting with Anri Sala, a former student of Edi Hila. The discussion will be led by Kathrin Rhomberg, co-curator of the exhibition „Edi Hila: Painter of Transformation”.

Anri Sala is one of the best-known contemporary artists. He maintains lively and warm reminiscences of Edi Hila, his teacher at art school in Tirana. Sala is one of the main propagators of Hila’s work outside Albania.

Anri Sala
Born in 1974 in Tirana, Albania, Anri Sala is a graduate of the departments of painting and sculpture at the Albanian University of Arts, where he encountered the work of Edi Hila. After receiving his diploma, he studied video art at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and completed film directing studies at Le Fresnoy—Studio national des arts contemporains in Tourcoing. He now lives and works in Berlin.
Sala is one of Albania’s most recognized artists. He is the winner of the 2014 Vincent, the 10th edition of the Benesse Prize (2013), and a young artist prize at the Venice Biennale (2001). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, such as the Havana Biennial (2015), the Sharjah Biennial (2013), the Gwangju Biennale (2012), Documenta (13) in Kassel (2012), and the São Paulo Biennial (2010). In 2013 Sala represented France at the 55th Venice Biennale.
