Saturday ArtWalk: Beyond Cybis – guided tour in English.

„Beyond Cybis” exhibition presents artworks of artists awarded the Cybis Award – one of the most prestigious prizes in the Polish art world. It’s a cross-sectional display of Polish 20th and 21st century painting, which can be seen as a summary of this period and its art scene. However, this exhibition isn’t just a collection of important works of art – it’s organized in thematic groups dealing with certain issues. The names of different parts of the exhibitions, such as „The Litany of the Painter”, „Twilight of the Painting” and „Write and Paint”, showcase the main themes chosen by the curator. This type of narrative allows the visitor to see the show both as a short history of Polish painting of the 20th and 21st century, but also as an essay about various themes and forms important to Polish artists in the last 50 years.
