On 17-19 March, the next spring edition of the Japanese Weekend will take place in Hala Gwardii. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the lively and exciting Japanese culture in the heart of Warsaw!
Enthusiasts of Far Eastern culture will surely be delighted by the show of one of the oldest Japanese martial arts – Katori Shinto-ryu, whose tradition dates back over 550 years. Samurai armors will also be presented at the show, and the KUNIYASU Workshop will familiarize viewers with the technique of putting them on and present an exhibition of samurai armor, including defensive weapons and swords.
There will also be an opportunity to try on samurai gear and the opportunity to take spectacular photos.
A closer understanding of Japanese everyday life will be possible thanks to the presence of Piotr Milewski, the author of the book „Planet K. Five years in a Japanese corporation” , which was announced the book of the year 2020 by National Geographic Traveler. During the event, you will also be able to literally feel the touch of Japanese culture, thanks to the presentation of the relaxing and regenerating Kiko massage, which Marcin Kuś will talk about. Koki Suetsugu – a Japanese pianist and youtuber, a graduate of the Karol Szymanowski University of Music in Katowice, will delight everyone with live music. Fryderyk Chopin, who will play songs from cult anime series, such as Demon Slayer or Super Mario.
Connoisseurs of Japanese cuisine will probably be attracted to Hala Gwardii by a cooking show, during which Yaki Kingu – Yumiko and Daniel – will show how to properly prepare traditional Japanese dishes. Appetites for Far Eastern flavors, sharpened by the show, will be satisfied thanks to the rich culinary offer, which will include excellent ramen, fresh sushi, onigri or takoyaki, as well as a wealth of salty and sweet snacks and Japanese drinks. Lovers of beautiful trinkets from the Land of the Rising Sun will surely find something for themselves at the stands with traditional ceramics and hand-made decorations, and fans of manga and anime will be able to count on a wide selection of gadgets.
