American Sports Weekend in Warsaw. 

The U.S. Embassy in Warsaw and American Center Warsaw invite you to attend an American Sports Weekend on August 26th and 27th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Warsaw City Hall’s Vistula District Recreation Zone on the “Poniatówka” beach at the Poniatowski Bridge. The event is co-organized with the Warsaw City Hall’s Sports Center Active Warsaw, the Polish League of American Football and the Polish Federation of Baseball and Softball. Admission to the event is free. 

There will be lots of sports attractions for people of all ages, including American football and baseball demonstration games on modified American football and baseball fields, hands-on training sessions, an obstacle course and contests with prizes. All the activities will be led by professional players from the Polish League of American Football teams such as Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw Dukes, Crusaders Warszawa and Warsaw Sharks. Softball and baseball activities will be carried out by Warsaw Diamonds softball team and Warsaw Dragons baseball team.  Marines from the U.S. Embassy will demonstrate a “Marine Challenge” in which everyone can test their fitness level (on August 27 from 15:00 to 18:00).

An information booth on studying in the United States and American culture, as well as American food will be available.

American Sports Weekend on the Vistula is a fantastic opportunity to culminate your summer with fun, sun and American sports!

Below is a list of activities:

American Football:

• Play a scrimmage game with professional players from local clubs
• Learn how to pass, kick, and tackle
• Try on American football gear such as helmets and shoulder pads
• Watch demonstration games

Participating teams: Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw Dukes, Crusaders Warszawa, Warsaw Sharks

Baseball:

• Use a batting cage to hit against a pitching machine
• Watch demonstration softball/baseball matches
• Participate in a training session with the Warsaw Diamonds softball team and Warsaw Dragons baseball team
• Participate in throwing, hitting and catching lessons
• Enter throwing and hitting contests and potentially earn a prize!
